Frida Kahlo was a famous Mexican painter. She is best known for her naive, raw and revealing self-portrait paintings that depicted her struggles in life. Mini biography: Born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón on the 6th of July, 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico City, Mexico. Her mother was Matilde Calderon y Gonzalez and her father Guillermo Kahlo (Carl Wilhelm Kahlo) was born in Germany. Kahlo married the famous Mexican communist painter Diego Rivera in 1929 and they were divorced in 1939. They then remarried in 1940. The artist died on the 13th of July, 1954 in Coyoacán, Mexico City, Mexico at the age of 47.
