Edvard Munch was a famous Norwegian painter and printmaker associated with the Expressionist and Post-Impressionist art movements. He is best known for his iconic Scream painting that has been reproduced countless times and continues to be used and referenced in popular culture today. Munch never married nor had any children. The artist died on the 23rd of January, 1944 in Oslo, Norway at the age of 80. Edvard Munch is buried at the Our Savior’s Cemetery (Vår Frelsers Gravlund), Oslo, Norway.
