Fred Williams was a famous Australian painter and printmaker. He is best known for his Australian landscapes which showed the country in a way that had never been seen before. Mini biography: Born Frederick Ronald Williams on the 23rd of January, 1927 in Richmond, Victoria, Australia. His mother was Florence Myrtle, née Phillips and his father Albert Augustus Williams was an electrical engineer. Williams married Eve Lynette Watson in 1961 and they had three children together: Isobel, Louise and Kate. The artist died of lung cancer on the 22nd of April, 1982 in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia at the age of 55.
