Seurat had a relationship with the artist model Madeleine Knobloch whom he painted in Jeune femme se poudrant. They had one child die at birth and the other (Pierre-Georges) died just weeks after Seurat died. The artist died on the 29th of March, 1891 in Paris, France at the age of 31. Georges Seurat is buried at the Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris, France.
