His mother was Hélène de Naidenoff and his father Théodore Fantin-Latour was a portrait painter. Fantin Latour married the painter Victoria Dubourg in 1876. The artist died on the 25th of August, 1904 in Buré, France at the age of 68. Henri Fantin-Latour is buried at the Montparnasse Cemetery, Paris, France.
