Paolo Veronese was a famous Venetian painter, muralist, draftsman and trompe-l’œil artist of the Renaissance in Italy. He is best known for his bold use of colors and his elegant figures. Mini biography: Born Paolo Caliari in 1528 in Verona, Venetian Republic (Italy). His mother was Caterina and his father Gabriele was a stonecutter. Veronese married Elena Badile in 1565 and they had five children together. The artist died on the 19th of April, 1588 in Venice, Venetian Republic (Italy) at the age of 59 or 60. Paolo Veronese is buried at the Chiesa di San Sebastiano, Venice, Città Metropolitana di Venezia, Veneto, Italy.
