Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a famous French painter. He is best known for his influential part in the Impressionist art movement of France and for his large feminine nude women. Mini biography: Born Pierre-Auguste Renoir on the 25th of February, 1841 in Limoges, Haute-Vienne, France. His mother was Marguerite Merlet and his father Léonard Renoir was a tailor. Renoir married Aline Victorine Charigot in 1890 and they had three children together: Pierre, Jean and Claude Renoir. The artist died on the 3rd of December, 1919 in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France at the age of 78. He was buried at the Essoyes Cemetery, Essoyes, Departement de l’Aube, Champagne-Ardenne, France.
