Pierre Bonnard was a famous French Post-Impressionist artist associated with the Les Nabis group of painters. He is best known for his interiors and female nudes in the bath. Mini biography: Born Pierre Bonnard on the 3rd of October, 1867 in Fontenay-aux-Roses, Seine, France. His mother was Élisabeth Mertzdorff and his father Eugène Bonnard was a senior ministry official. Bonnard married Marthe de Méligny in 1925 until her death in 1942. The artist died on the 23rd of January, 1947 in La Route de Serra Capeou, Le Cannet, Alpes-Maritimes, France at the age of 79. Bonnard is buried alongside his wife at the Notre-Dame des Anges cemetery, Le Cannet, Departement des Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France.
